Applications are being accepted for Section 8 Mainstream Vouchers ONLY.

Mainstream Voucher applications will be accepted until all 39 applications are filled.

The Housing Authority of the City of Rocky Mount has the right to suspend 'taking applications' at any time with notice. In compliance with section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, as amended, the Housing Authority of the City of Rocky Mount (RMHA) does not discriminate on the basis of handicap (physical or mental) in the admission of or access to public housing, or the treatment of employee or applicants for employment. Any discrimination on this basis is illegal.

To qualify for the Mainstream Voucher Program you must be non-elderly (at least age 18 and not yet 62 years of age) who are transitioning out of institutional or other segregated settings or at a serious risk of institutionalization who often have difficulties in locating suitable and accessible housing on private market lease affordable housing of their choice.
